OHT Stockholm article club: remote overload
Small discussion group on the topic of remote working, empathy and trust. This is a part of the Article Club series by One HealthTech Stockholm
The aim of the Article Club is to create an informal space for everyone to share their experiences and learn from each other. Each session will focus on a chosen topic related to either health-tech, diversity and/or inclusion.
This is an opportunity to meet someone new in our community and have an informal chat about our thoughts and experiences.
It’s open to anyone interested in the chosen topic, regardless of whether you work in health-tech or not.
---This session’s topic Remote overload: how can we foster meaningful connections with remote colleagues?
At our meet-up, let’s discuss what challenges we have faced recently when it comes to communicating and connecting with our colleagues, and how can we build trust with each other while being remote?
In a survey of 1,025 people by Joseph Grenny and David Maxfield, they found that virtual teammates are 2.5 times more likely to perceive mistrust. Worse, they report taking 5 to 10 times longer to address their concerns. This study, of course, did not account for working in the midst of a global health crisis.
How can we build trust and respect, given our current circumstances and a majority of us is working remotely – especially when this was forced upon us due to the pandemic?
When you register, you will receive two article links around this topic, as well as some discussion questions to get you started.
