---Mental health apps and chatbots: are they the saviour to solve the mental health epidemic?
At our meet-up, let’s discuss our experience and opinions around using mental health or wellness apps, especially those powered by artificial intelligence – such as chatbots or digital assistants. What are the benefits and potential pitfalls of these technology?
A 12,000-person survey found that workers around the globe are looking for AI-powered digital assistants and chatbots to cope with mental health during the pandemic.
These apps can not only provide instantaneous help at any time, but more importantly, a judgement-free zone. In fact, the study found that 68% of respondents would prefer to talk to a robot over their manager about stress and anxiety at work, due to fear of being ostracized by their teams, or even laid off.
Can AI be a valuable resource for treating mental health problems? Are we creating more issues while solving one problem? And how does it impact psychologists?
